Is the snorkelling at Jibacoa really good?

Jibacoa is one of the best snorkelling spots on Cuba's north coast. A coral reef runs parallel to the beach just a short swim from shore, and the water is unusually clear. You can expect to see parrotfish, angelfish, sea fans, soft corals and occasionally rays. Snorkelling equipment is available free from the resort's watersports centre.

What is the food like at the resort?

The all inclusive package covers all meals. The main buffet restaurant serves Cuban and international dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner, expect a good variety of grilled meats, seafood, salads, rice dishes and tropical fruits. There is also an à la carte restaurant for a more formal evening meal. Drinks, including cocktails, rum, beer, wine and soft drinks, are available all day from several bars around the resort.

Can I visit Havana from Hotel Jibacoa?

Yes, Havana is about an hour away by road, so day trips are very doable. You can arrange a classic car tour of Old Havana, visit the Malecón, explore the plazas and paladares, or simply soak up the atmosphere. Excursions can be booked locally through the resort or we can arrange a private driver for you.

Do I need a visa for Cuba?

Yes, all UK travellers need a Cuban Tourist Card (visa), but it's included free of charge with this holiday. We handle the application for you, so there's nothing extra to arrange.

Is travel insurance required for Cuba?

Yes, Cuba requires all visitors to have valid medical insurance. The FCDO currently advises against all but essential travel to Cuba, which means most standard UK policies will not cover you. DAY BY DAY

Your itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Cuba

Depart London Gatwick on Air Europa via Madrid. On arrival at Havana's José Martí International Airport, your shared transfer will take you east along the coast to the Hotel Jibacoa Beach Resort, roughly an hour's drive through the Cuban countryside. Check in, settle into your room and head down to the beach or pool to start your holiday.

Days 2–7: Hotel Jibacoa, All Inclusive

Six full days to enjoy everything the resort has to offer. The beach is the star, a sheltered, palm-lined bay with calm turquoise water and a coral reef just offshore that's home to colourful tropical fish, sea fans and the occasional ray. Borrow a snorkel set from the watersports centre and explore straight from the sand.

The all inclusive package covers breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main buffet restaurant, with à la carte dining available at the specialty restaurant. Drinks, cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks, are included throughout the day at the pool bar, beach bar and lobby bar. Between meals, fill your time with the resort's activities: the swimming pool, kayaking, windsurfing, beach volleyball, and evening entertainment with live music and Cuban dance performances.

For a change of scenery, you can arrange optional excursions locally, a classic car tour of Havana (90 minutes away), a day trip to the colonial town of Matanzas, or a boat ride through the mangroves at the nearby Río Canasí.

Day 8: Departure

After a final breakfast, your shared transfer collects you from the resort for the drive back to Havana airport. Fly home via Madrid with Air Europa, arriving back in the UK the following morning.
