Day 1Arrive San Jose
Welcome to Costa Rica! Transfer to hotel in the Central Valley. Welcome dinner with trip briefing.
Day 2San Jose to Monteverde
Drive to the famous cloud forest. Afternoon introduction walk with naturalist guide.
Day 3Monteverde Cloud Forest
Full day exploring hanging bridges, canopy walkways, and forest trails. Look for the resplendent quetzal.
Day 4Night Walk & Coffee Tour
Morning coffee plantation visit. Evening night walk to spot red-eyed tree frogs and night monkeys.
Day 5Transfer to Arenal
Scenic drive to Arenal Volcano area. Afternoon hike on old lava flows. Evening hot springs.
Day 6Arenal Volcano Trails
Hike the trails around Arenal with views of the iconic cone. Afternoon optional zip-lining or rafting.
Day 7Arenal to Tortuguero
Journey through the lowlands to the Caribbean coast. Boat transfer to Tortuguero.
Day 8Tortuguero Canal Safari
Early morning boat safari through the canals spotting caimans, monkeys, and exotic birds.
Day 9Tortuguero to San Jose
Morning wildlife walk. Transfer back via banana plantations. Evening in San Jose.
Day 10Fly to Osa Peninsula
Short flight to Drake Bay. Afternoon beach walk and marine wildlife spotting.
Day 11Corcovado National Park
Full day in one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Spot scarlet macaws, tapirs, and all four monkey species.
Day 12Snorkelling & Whale Watching
Boat trip for marine wildlife. Seasonal whale watching (July-October) and snorkelling at Cano Island.
Day 13Osa Peninsula Free Day
Optional kayaking, additional hiking, or relaxation. Farewell dinner.
Day 14Departure
Flight to San Jose for international connections.

We've wanted to visit Costa Rica for years and Travelfab put together a brilliant two-week trip. Arenal Volcano with the hot springs was the perfect start. Tortuguero's canals were teeming with wildlife, monkeys, sloths, caimans, an incredible variety of birds. The Caribbean coast around Puerto Viejo had a completely different vibe, reggae, jerk chicken, and lovely reef snorkelling. Pura vida indeed.

Costa Rica was pure magic. Monteverde cloud forest was eerie and beautiful, we saw a resplendent quetzal on our first morning which our guide said was rare. The hanging bridges walk was thrilling. We finished at Manuel Antonio where the white-faced monkeys came right up to our sun loungers. The biodiversity is staggering. Travelfab arranged everything including an excellent local driver-guide.
