Caribbean

Aruba, known as "One Happy Island", sits just off the coast of Venezuela and enjoys year-round sunshine with remarkably little rainfall — making it one of the most reliable Caribbean destinations. This Dutch Caribbean island blends pristine white-sand beaches with a rugged desert interior of cacti, divi-divi trees, and dramatic rock formations. Beyond the powder-soft shores of Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, discover a vibrant food scene, colourful Oranjestad architecture, and natural wonders like the Arikok National Park. Travelfab creates tailor-made Aruba holidays with ATOL protection, combining beach luxury with off-the-beaten-path exploration.

WHITE SAND

Beaches that top the world’s lists

Aruba's leeward coast is a long ribbon of powder-white sand and impossibly clear turquoise water. Eagle Beach is regularly ranked among the best beaches on Earth, known for its wind-bent divi-divi trees that lean permanently to the southwest, while Palm Beach is the livelier high-rise strip of resorts, piers and water sports.

The sea here is calm, warm and clear year-round — Aruba sits below the hurricane belt, so the weather stays reliably dry and sunny. Baby Beach, a shallow sheltered lagoon at the southern tip, is ideal for families and first-time snorkellers.

Steady trade winds keep the island comfortable even at midday — and make Aruba one of the Caribbean's finest spots for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

RUGGED INTERIOR

A desert wild side

Nearly a fifth of the island is Arikok National Park — a sun-baked country of cactus, divi-divi and aloe, wild goats and bright-blue Aruban whiptail lizards, fringed by a rugged windward coast where Atlantic swells slam into limestone cliffs.

The Natural Pool (Conchi) — reachable only by 4x4, on horseback or a hot hike — is a volcanic-rock basin where you can swim while the surf breaks over the rim, and the nearby Guadirikiri and Fontein caves hold bats and Arawak petroglyphs.

This is the Aruba most visitors never see: dry, dramatic and empty, a complete contrast to the resort beaches an hour away.

DUTCH CARIBBEAN

The capital and the flamingos

Oranjestad, the capital, wears its Dutch heritage openly — rows of pastel colonial buildings and gabled facades, a free tram trundling past duty-free shops and waterfront cafés, and four languages (Papiamento, Dutch, English and Spanish) spoken on "one happy island".

Just offshore, the famous Renaissance Island flamingos wade the shallows of a private white-sand beach — the pink-feathered, much-photographed face of Aruban tourism. Tables run from fresh-grilled fish and Dutch cheese to Indonesian rijsttafel, a legacy of the wider Dutch world.

Compact and walkable, Oranjestad is where the island's Caribbean warmth and easygoing European order meet.

What our customers say

From travellers who visited Aruba with us

Spent a week in Aruba and had a wonderful time. The consistency of the weather is a real selling point — blue skies every day. We loved the flamingo beach on Renaissance Island and the windsurfing at Hadicurari was great fun even as beginners. Only four stars because the resort strip can feel a bit commercialised, but step away from it and the island has real character.

Aruba punches well above its weight. The snorkelling at Mangel Halto was excellent and the sunset from the California Lighthouse area was stunning every evening. Oranjestad is colourful and fun for a wander. The Dutch-Caribbean fusion food surprised me — the keshi yena (stuffed cheese) was a real discovery. Weather was flawless for the entire trip.

Aruba was our first Caribbean holiday and it set the bar high. Eagle Beach is genuinely one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen — the famous fofoti trees, turquoise water, pristine white sand. We hired a jeep to explore Arikok National Park and the natural pool on the rocky coast was brilliant. The island feels very safe and friendly. Perfect for a relaxing week.
