Not everyone wants to sleep on a boat, and you do not have to. This ten day holiday puts you in first class hotels on two islands with the boats used only by day. Three nights on Isabela, the biggest and wildest island, cover the trek up Sierra Negra, the snorkelling at Tintoreras and the lava arches of Los Túneles. Then four nights on Santa Cruz for the giant tortoises in the highlands, the Charles Darwin station and two day cruises to the outer islands. The Galápagos flights, the national park fee and the transit card are all in the price, along with a night in Quito at each end so the connections are never a rush.

Galápagos Island Hopping: Santa Cruz & Isabela
Seven nights on the islands sleeping ashore: three on Isabela for the Sierra Negra volcano and Los Túneles, four on Santa Cruz for the tortoises and two day boats to Bartolomé, North Seymour, Plazas or Santa Fe. From £5,399 per person with flights.
Highlights
Your Itinerary

Day 1: London to Quito
Fly from London to Quito. Your guide meets you and takes you to your hotel for the night. Overnight at Patio Andaluz or similar.
Day 2: Fly to the Galápagos, on to Isabela
An early flight to Baltra, where your naturalist guide meets you and drives across Santa Cruz to Puerto Ayora. After lunch in town you take the speedboat to Isabela, about two and a half hours across open water. Check in, then a first walk to the flamingo lagoon beside Puerto Villamil. Overnight at Scalesia Lodge or Iguana Crossing or similar. Lunch included.
Day 3: Sierra Negra volcano and Tintoreras
A private excursion to Sierra Negra, one of the largest volcanic calderas in the world. The trek along the rim and out to the Chico volcano lava fields takes most of the morning, with a picnic lunch. In the afternoon a short boat ride to the Tintoreras islet for a guided walk and snorkelling among sea lions, turtles and, with luck, rays and white-tipped reef sharks. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 4: Los Túneles
By boat along the south coast to Roca Unión for Nazca boobies, then Los Túneles, where lava from Sierra Negra has formed arches and tunnels above and below the water. A short walk on the formations and then the best snorkelling of the trip: turtles, reef fish, rays and resting sharks in the calm coves. The afternoon is free. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 5: Back to Santa Cruz
The early speedboat back to Santa Cruz and breakfast at your hotel in Puerto Ayora. The rest of the day is yours: the town, Tortuga Bay, the shops and cafés on the waterfront. Overnight at Finch Bay or Montemar or similar. Breakfast included.
Day 6: The highlands and the Darwin station
Up into the highlands of Santa Cruz, green and misty, where giant tortoises graze in the open. Lunch back at the harbour, then the Charles Darwin Research Station to see the breeding programme and the different island tortoises side by side. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 7: Day cruise to an outer island
Your first shared day cruise on a small yacht, with lunch on board. The island depends on the permits for the day: Bartolomé for the classic view over Pinnacle Rock, North Seymour for frigatebirds and boobies, South Plazas for land iguanas and turquoise water, or Santa Fe for its sea lion colony and giant cactus. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 8: Second day cruise
A second day boat to a different island from the same four, so between the two days you cover both the wildlife and the landscape the Galápagos is known for. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 9: Fly back to Quito
Transfer across the island to Baltra for the flight to the mainland and a last night in Quito. Overnight at Patio Andaluz or similar. Breakfast included.
Day 10: Quito to London
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Breakfast included.

What our customers say
From travellers who visited Galapagos Islands with us
The Galápagos was everything we'd hoped for and more. Swimming with sea lions at Kicker Rock, watching blue-footed boobies doing their mating dance on North Seymour, and the giant tortoises on Santa Cruz, it's like stepping into a nature documentary. Our naturalist guide was exceptional and made every landing fascinating. Worth every penny.
Peter & Jane S.
The Galapagos exceeded every expectation. Blue-footed boobies dancing right at our feet, snorkelling with sea lions, and giant tortoises just wandering past. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Michael & Janet H.
Our 8-day expedition cruise was absolutely incredible. The guides were world-class and seeing wildlife so close with no fear of humans is truly humbling. Worth every penny.
