Day 1: Arrive Havana
Fly from London Gatwick to Havana via Madrid with Air Europa. On arrival at José Martí International Airport, your private driver will meet you and transfer you to the Iberostar Selection Parque Central. Check in and head up to one of the two rooftop pools for panoramic views across Parque Central and the Capitol Building dome. The hotel's colonial elegance and unbeatable location make it the perfect base for exploring Havana.
Day 2: Old Havana & Havana Vieja
After breakfast at the hotel, step outside into the UNESCO-listed streets of Old Havana. Walk through Plaza de la Catedral, Plaza de Armas, and Plaza Vieja — each with its own character and charm. Visit the Museo de la Revolución in the former Presidential Palace, browse artisan markets, and take in the street music that spills from every corner. In the evening, enjoy a mojito at La Bodeguita del Medio or a daiquiri at El Floridita — both Hemingway favourites.
Day 3: Classic Cars, Art & the Malecón
Start the day with a ride in a classic 1950s American convertible along the Malecón seafront. Visit the Fábrica de Arte Cubano (Cuba's most exciting contemporary art space) or the Fusterlandia mosaic neighbourhood in Jaimanitas. Spend the afternoon exploring the backstreets of Centro Habana, discovering paladares (private restaurants) and live music venues. Your last evening in Havana is free to explore at your own pace — perhaps return to the rooftop pool for sunset views.
Day 4: Transfer to Varadero
After a leisurely breakfast, your private driver will collect you from the hotel for the scenic two-hour transfer to Varadero along the Via Blanca coastal highway. Check in to the Selection Iberostar Varadero — your home for the next seven nights. The resort's premium all-inclusive service begins immediately, so settle in with a welcome cocktail by one of the three swimming pools.
Days 5–10: Varadero — Beach & All-Inclusive
Seven nights to enjoy one of the Caribbean's finest beach resorts. The Selection Iberostar Varadero offers four à la carte restaurants — La Dorada (Mediterranean), Ambrosio (Cuban cuisine), Manzuko (Japanese and sushi), and La Padilla (international) — plus a generous main buffet restaurant. Three swimming pools, a full-service spa, non-motorised watersports (kayaking, sailing, windsurfing), and evening entertainment complete the picture. Optional excursions can be arranged locally — the Saturno Cave for a swim in an underground cenote, a catamaran cruise to Cayo Blanco, or a day trip to the colonial city of Matanzas.
Day 11: Departure
After a final breakfast, transfer to Varadero's Juan Gualberto Gómez Airport (or back to Havana for your return flight). Fly home via Madrid with Air Europa, arriving back in the UK the following morning.
