Cuba Multi-Centre Holidays: How to Combine Havana, Varadero, Trinidad & Viñales
Plan a multi-centre Cuba holiday combining Havana, Varadero, Trinidad and Viñales. Sample itineraries, transport tips and costs. ATOL protected.
A multi-centre Cuba holiday is the best way to experience the real Cuba — combining the energy of Havana with colonial Trinidad, the tobacco valleys of Viñales and the beaches of Varadero or the Cayos. Rather than staying in one resort for a week, you move between destinations to get a richer, more varied holiday.
This guide explains how multi-centre and twin-centre Cuba holidays work, with sample itineraries, transport options and practical tips for 2026.
Multi-Centre vs Twin-Centre: What's the Difference?
Twin-centre: Two destinations, typically Havana + beach (Varadero, Cayo Santa María or Cayo Largo). The simplest and most popular format.
Multi-centre: Three or more destinations. Might include Havana, Viñales, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Varadero. More adventurous, more varied, and a deeper experience.
Both can be booked as a single package with flights, transfers and accommodation all arranged in advance.
The Classic Twin-Centre: Havana + Varadero
This is Cuba's most popular holiday format and works perfectly for 7–10 nights.
Sample 10-Night Itinerary
Days 1–3: Havana — Explore Old Havana, ride in a classic car along the Malecón, visit the Rum Museum, take a salsa lesson, watch the sunset from Hotel Nacional
Day 4: Transfer to Varadero (2 hours by road)
Days 4–10: Varadero — All-inclusive beach resort, water sports, day trips to the Saturno Cave or Matanzas
Day 11: Fly home from Varadero
Price guide: From £1,400 per person including flights, transfers, 3 nights B&B in Havana and 7 nights all-inclusive in Varadero.
Varadero has its own international airport, so you can fly home directly without returning to Havana — saving a day of travel.

Transport Between Destinations
Private Transfers
The most comfortable and reliable option. A private car with driver picks you up from your hotel and drops you at the next one. Prices:
Havana to Varadero: £60–80 per car
Havana to Viñales: £70–90 per car
Trinidad to Varadero: £100–120 per car
Havana to Trinidad: £150–180 per car
Shared Taxis (Colectivos)
Shared classic cars run set routes between cities. Cheaper but less flexible:
Havana to Trinidad: £20–25 per person
Trinidad to Varadero: £15–20 per person
Havana to Viñales: £15–20 per person
Viazul Buses
The tourist bus company connects major cities. Air-conditioned coaches, fixed schedules. Very affordable but slower:
Havana to Trinidad: £18 per person, 6 hours
Havana to Viñales: £9 per person, 3.5 hours
Self-Drive
You can hire a car and drive yourself — see our Cuba car hire guide for full details.
Where to Stay on a Multi-Centre Holiday
Hotels
Cuba's hotel scene has improved significantly. The Iberostar and Meliá chains run the best properties. Expect modern facilities in Havana and Varadero, with more basic options elsewhere.
Casas Particulares
Private homestays are the authentic Cuba experience. You stay in a Cuban family's home, with a private room and bathroom. Breakfast and dinner are often available. This is how most independent travellers explore Cuba.
Excellent in Trinidad, Viñales, Cienfuegos and smaller towns
Increasingly available in Havana (though hotels are more convenient there)
Budget: £25–50 per night per room including breakfast
Our Recommendation
We typically recommend a mix: boutique hotels in Havana, casas particulares in smaller towns, and all-inclusive resorts for beach sections. This gives you the best experience at each destination.
How Much Does a Multi-Centre Cuba Holiday Cost?
Budget depends on duration, accommodation standard and number of destinations:
10-night twin-centre (Havana + Varadero): from £1,400pp
12-night cultural circuit (4 destinations): from £1,800pp
14-night comprehensive (5+ destinations): from £2,200pp
All prices include return flights from the UK, all inter-city transfers, accommodation and meals as specified. Excursions and activities are extra unless noted.
Tips for Planning Your Multi-Centre Holiday
Don't try to see everything in one trip. Cuba rewards slow travel. Two or three destinations in 10 days is better than five destinations in a rush.
Allow buffer days. Cuban logistics can be unpredictable. Build in rest days between transfers.
Book a domestic flight for long distances. Havana to Santiago is 15 hours by road but just 1 hour by air.
Pack light. You will be moving between accommodation regularly. A soft bag is easier than a hard suitcase on Cuban roads.
The best time to visit is November to April — dry season with comfortable temperatures. See our best time to visit Cuba guide.
Why Book a Multi-Centre Holiday Through a Specialist?
Coordinating multiple hotels, transfers, domestic flights and activities in Cuba is challenging to do independently. Internet access is limited, accommodation books out quickly, and logistics require local knowledge.
At Travelfab, we arrange bespoke multi-centre Cuba holidays with everything confirmed before you travel. We know which casas particulares are the best, which transfer routes are most scenic, and how to build an itinerary that flows naturally.
