Your Itinerary
Day 1: London to Buenos Aires
An evening flight from London. You sleep on the plane and land in Buenos Aires the next morning.
Day 2: Buenos Aires
Your guide meets you at Ezeiza airport and takes you to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to rest after the long flight.
Day 3: Buenos Aires city tour
A half-day tour of the city: Avenida 9 de Julio and the Obelisk, the Colón Theatre, Avenida de Mayo, Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, and the painted houses of La Boca. The afternoon is free. If you would like a dinner and tango show in the evening, ask us and we will add it.
Day 4: Fly to Salta
A morning flight to Salta. In the afternoon, a tour of the colonial centre: Plaza 9 de Julio with the cathedral and the old Cabildo, the church of San Francisco and the craft market, then up Cerro San Bernardo for the view over the city and out to San Lorenzo at the edge of the cloud forest.
Day 5: The Quebrada de Humahuaca
An early start north into the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a valley used as a trade route for thousands of years and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. You stop at Purmamarca under the Hill of Seven Colours, climb to the Pucará of Tilcara, a hilltop fortress built before the Incas came, and reach Humahuaca, at almost 3,000 metres, before the drive back to Salta. A long day, and one of the best on the trip.
Day 6: Cafayate and its wine
South through the Quebrada de las Conchas, where wind and water have carved the red rock into shapes with names like the Amphitheatre and the Devil's Throat. Cafayate is a quiet colonial town in the vineyards, and you visit a winery to taste Torrontés, the dry white wine the valley is known for. Lunch is included today.
Day 7: Fly to Buenos Aires and the Tigre delta
The flight back to Buenos Aires, then out through the leafy northern suburbs and San Isidro to Tigre. An hour by boat through the channels of the Paraná delta, past houses on stilts and islands you can only reach by water. The boat is shared, with an English-speaking guide on board.
Day 8: Buenos Aires to London
Transfer to Ezeiza for the overnight flight home, landing in London the next day.

Did two weeks covering Buenos Aires, Mendoza wine country, and Iguazú Falls. The wine tasting in the Uco Valley was a highlight, much more intimate than Napa or Bordeaux. Iguazú is genuinely one of the most spectacular things I've seen. My only minor note is that internal flights can be a bit unpredictable timing-wise, but Fabian had built buffer days into the plan which was smart.

Buenos Aires had us hooked from the first evening, the tango show in San Telmo, steak at a proper parrilla in Palermo, and wandering the colourful streets of La Boca. Then Patagonia was on another level entirely. Standing at the edge of Perito Moreno glacier watching house-sized chunks of ice calving off is something I'll never forget. Travelfab's itinerary pacing was spot on.
