Day 1London to Buenos Aires
An evening flight from London. You sleep on the plane and land in Buenos Aires the next morning.
Day 2Buenos Aires city tour
Your guide meets you at Ezeiza airport and takes you to the hotel, where your room is ready early with breakfast. In the afternoon, a four-hour tour of the city: Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, the painted houses of Caminito in La Boca, and Recoleta, with time inside the cemetery where Eva Perón is buried.
Day 3Buenos Aires at your own pace, and a night of tango
A free day. Walk San Telmo, sit in one of the old cafés, or take a trip out to the Tigre delta. In the evening you learn a few tango steps, then stay for dinner and a tango show.
Day 4Fly to Ushuaia
A morning flight south to Ushuaia, the city at the end of the world, between the mountains and the Beagle Channel. Your guide meets you at the airport and the rest of the day is yours.
Day 5Tierra del Fuego National Park and the Beagle Channel
In the morning, the End of the World Train takes you into Tierra del Fuego National Park, along the route of the old railway that carried the prisoners of Ushuaia out to cut timber. The tour carries on to Lapataia Bay, where Argentina's Route 3 comes to an end, and to Lake Acigami. In the afternoon, a boat on the Beagle Channel takes you past the sea lions of Isla de los Lobos, the cormorants and the red and white Les Eclaireurs lighthouse.
Day 6Fly to El Calafate
A short flight north to El Calafate, on the shore of Lago Argentino. The rest of the day is free. The Glaciarium, a centre all about the ice fields, is a good way to spend the afternoon.
Day 7The Perito Moreno glacier
Into Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the Perito Moreno glacier. The walkways face the ice wall across a narrow arm of the lake, close enough to hear it crack and watch pieces fall into the water. Then an hour on the lake by boat, along the front of the ice.
Day 8A free day in El Calafate
A day to spend as you like. Ask us about a boat to the Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers on Lago Argentino, or a day trip to El Chaltén under Mount Fitz Roy.
Day 9Fly to Iguazú
Two flights today, through Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazú, on the edge of the subtropical forest in the far north. Your guide meets you there and takes you to the hotel.
Day 10Iguazú Falls, the Argentine side
A full day in Iguazú National Park on the Argentine side. A small train runs to the start of the walkway out to the Devil's Throat, where the river drops away under your feet, and the upper and lower circuits take you along the top of the falls and down to their base. Lunch in the park is included.
Day 11The Brazilian side, then back to Buenos Aires
Across the border into Brazil in the morning for the wide view: a path along the gorge with most of the falls in front of you, ending on a walkway close to the Devil's Throat. In the late afternoon you fly back to Buenos Aires, where we have booked you a hotel for the night.
Day 12Buenos Aires to London
A free morning in Buenos Aires, then the transfer to Ezeiza for the flight home, overnight.

Visit the magnificent Iguazú Falls. Buenos Aires and its tango. Colonial Salta and its red canyons. The Malbec wineries of Mendoza. See them from both sides of the border: the great panorama from Brazil, then the walkways of Argentina, right to the edge of the Devil's Throat. Then fly to the far south, to Ushuaia, known as the end of the world. From here, a boat along the Beagle Channel takes you past sea lions, seabirds and a lonely lighthouse. From El Calafate, stand face to face with the Perito Moreno glacier, and listen for the ice as it cracks and falls into the lake. Or pull on your boots, and walk through Patagonia beneath the granite towers of Fitz Roy. The north is a different Argentina. From colonial Salta, drive up the Quebrada de Humahuaca, past the Hill of Seven Colours, to Andean villages high in the mountains. Then follow the red rock canyons south to Cafayate, where the bodegas make Torrontés, the local white wine. And just across the River Plate, Uruguay is one short ferry ride away. Stroll the cobbled streets of Colonia del Sacramento, then carry on to Montevideo, with its grand Independence Square, the long riverside Rambla, and the stadium built for the very first World Cup.
