What counts as a "tailor-made" holiday with Travelfab?

Tailor-made means every element of your trip is built around you, not the other way round. There's no fixed brochure to choose from. You tell us who's travelling, when, where you're drawn to, how you like to travel (boutique hotels vs. homestays, relaxed vs. activity-packed, fly-and-flop vs. multi-country) and roughly what budget you're working with — and we design an itinerary from scratch to match.

You'll work with one dedicated Latin America specialist from first contact through to your return home. We don't outsource planning to call-centres or resell fixed packages from bigger operators. The proposal you receive is written specifically for your trip, so if you want three nights in Havana instead of five, a day-trip to Viñales instead of Trinidad, or a honeymoon suite instead of a standard room, we simply redesign it. Most of our clients take 2–3 rounds of refinement before they're ready to book.

Because your trip is bespoke, quoted prices always reflect live availability, live exchange rates and your exact routing — no "from £X" pricing dressed up to look like a deal. It also means we can add things other operators can't: private language classes in Cartagena, a dawn visit to Machu Picchu, a chef's table in Mexico City. If you can dream it, we can usually design it.

Question 2

How soon will I hear back after submitting this form?

We reply within one UK working day — usually much sooner. When your enquiry lands, it's routed to the specialist with the deepest knowledge of your chosen destination (or specialisms that match your trip style). You'll get a personal, human email back — not an auto-generated brochure — acknowledging your enquiry and either answering your questions directly or asking one or two clarifying questions so we can start building your proposal.

A detailed itinerary and quote typically follows within 2–3 working days once we've agreed the broad shape with you. For complex multi-country trips or peak-season dates (Christmas, Easter, Galápagos summer), it can take a little longer because we hold availability with our hotels and ground partners before quoting.

If your travel dates are within 6 weeks and you need to move fast, let us know in the message box and we'll prioritise. For the rare occasion we're on a day off or it's a UK bank holiday, you'll get an out-of-office reply letting you know when we're back. If you'd rather speak than email, tick the "I'd prefer a call" box in the form and we'll schedule a time that works for you.

What's included in the price?

Our quotes always show the full price of your trip in GBP, broken down by element so you can see exactly where every pound goes. A typical tailor-made quote includes: international flights (unless you'd rather book those yourself), domestic flights within Latin America, all hotels, all private transfers and ground transport, English-speaking local guides, entrance fees to headline sights, and most breakfasts.

Dinners, lunches, tips, personal spending, travel insurance and visa fees are typically excluded and listed clearly so there are no surprises. If you're travelling to Cuba, the Cuba tourist card ("e-visa") is always included free — we issue it for you through our sister company CubaVisa.uk.

Because we design everything in-house, we can flex what's included to match your preferences: all-meals if you want a worry-free experience, breakfast-only if you'd rather explore the food scene independently, private guides throughout or only for the highlights. We're transparent with margins too — if you ask us how our price compares to booking it yourself, we'll tell you honestly and explain what you get for the difference (24/7 on-trip support, ATOL financial protection, curated partners we've personally vetted).

Question 4

How much does a tailor-made Latin America holiday cost?

Most tailor-made Latin America trips we build start from around £2,500 per person (excluding international flights), rising to £6,000–£10,000+ per person for longer multi-country journeys, higher-end accommodation, or expedition-style Galápagos cruises.

As a rough guide: a 10-day classic Cuba twin-centre with boutique hotels sits around £2,500–£3,500pp. Two weeks combining Peru & Machu Picchu with a few nights in Cusco and the Sacred Valley typically runs £3,500–£5,500pp. Ecuador + a 4-night Galápagos cruise starts from around £4,500pp and can rise significantly depending on the ship class. Three-week multi-country trips (e.g. Cuba + Mexico, or Colombia + Peru) usually sit in the £5,500–£8,500pp bracket.

International flights from the UK add roughly £700–£1,400pp in economy, more in premium cabins. We're happy to quote with or without flights — some clients prefer to use their own Avios or BA/Virgin upgrade vouchers. If your budget is lower than the ranges above, be honest with us in the form. We'd rather tell you upfront whether we can design something you'll genuinely enjoy than quote a trip that feels stretched.

Question 5

Can you combine multiple countries (e.g. Cuba + Mexico)?

Yes — multi-country itineraries are what we do best. Roughly half of our bookings combine two or more countries, and some clients do full three- or four-country Latin America grand tours with us over 3–4 weeks.

The most popular combinations we build are: Cuba + Mexico (often a week in each, connecting via Cancún), Colombia + Peru (Cartagena colonial city + Machu Picchu), Ecuador + Galápagos + Peru (the ultimate Andean + wildlife combo), and Cuba + Dominican Republic (two very different Caribbean cultures in one trip). We also regularly build less obvious routes — Costa Rica + Panama, Mexico + Guatemala + Belize, Colombia + Ecuador.

Multi-country trips work best when you have 2+ weeks; anything shorter and you spend too long in transit. We handle all the tricky logistics — internal flights between countries (which sometimes aren't bookable direct from the UK), visa requirements country-by-country, the Cuba tourist card, and any tricky border crossings. We'll also advise on the best sequence: for example, acclimatise to altitude in Cusco before tackling Machu Picchu; do your Caribbean beach week after the active Mexico leg, not before. This kind of logistical choreography is hard to DIY — it's where a specialist earns their keep.

Question 6

Is my money protected? (ATOL 10898)

Accepted Answer

Yes — every Travelfab holiday that includes flights is fully ATOL protected under licence 10898. ATOL (Air Travel Organiser's Licence) is a UK government financial protection scheme run by the Civil Aviation Authority. In practice, this means two things: first, if Travelfab ever ceased trading, the money you've paid towards your trip is refunded by the ATOL scheme; second, if you're already on your trip when something happens, ATOL pays to bring you home.

You can verify our ATOL licence at any time on the Civil Aviation Authority's website (caa.co.uk) by searching for "Travelfab" or licence number 10898. We send you an ATOL certificate automatically when your booking is confirmed — keep it with your travel documents.

On top of ATOL, we're also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO ZA823279) for data protection, registered in the UK at Companies House (08910640), and our brand is a registered UK trademark (UK00004035589). Our client funds are held in a separate trust account and only released to hotels and suppliers once your trip is complete. If you're comparing operators, always check their ATOL number is live on the CAA site — some online "tailor-made" travel agents don't hold ATOL protection at all.

Question 7

Do you arrange flights?

Yes — we book flights directly as part of your package, which is what triggers the ATOL protection. We work with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Iberia, Air France, KLM, Avianca, Aeromexico, LATAM and most other major carriers into Latin America from UK airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh).

You're welcome to book your own flights if you'd rather use Avios, companion vouchers, frequent flyer upgrades, or a specific routing — just let us know and we'll quote the land-only portion. Bear in mind that if you self-book flights, they fall outside ATOL protection, so if the airline cancels or fails, you're reliant on the airline's own protection and your travel insurance rather than ours.

For complex routings — say, Heathrow to Havana, Havana to Mexico City, Cancún back to Heathrow — we often find better fares and connection times than the public booking sites, because we can use consolidator fares and hold seats while we confirm the rest of the itinerary. We'll always show you the full flight routing before booking so you can approve it. Premium economy, business and first upgrades are available on most of our routes; just mention your preference in the message box.

Can you plan family holidays / honeymoons / solo trips?

Absolutely — and each needs a slightly different touch, which is where the tailor-made approach really pays off. About 40% of our bookings are couples (including a lot of honeymoons and anniversary trips), around 30% are families with children or teens, and the rest is a mix of solo travellers, groups of friends, and multi-generational family trips.

For honeymoons, we lean into romantic touches: private cooking classes, rose-petal turndowns, a sunset catamaran off the Mexican coast, a helicopter transfer to Machu Picchu. We know which hotels do honeymoons brilliantly and which just tick a box. Many of our honeymoon clients come back to us for their 5th and 10th anniversary trips.

For families, we match activity level and accommodation style to the age of your children. Galápagos with teenagers is transformative; with toddlers, we'd steer you to Costa Rica instead. We have a curated list of family-friendly boutique hotels that genuinely welcome kids (interconnecting rooms, child-safe pools, decent kids' menus) rather than just tolerating them.

For solo travellers, we can build a trip that balances independence with safety and companionship: private guides for the days when you want local insight, free time in hotels with great communal spaces, and one or two curated group activities (cooking class, salsa lesson) where you'll meet other travellers. Single supplements are unavoidable at some luxury properties but we'll always flag the ones that waive them.
